Ms. Arlette Omba-Shako – Founder & Community Leader
A Visionary Leader Committed to Empowering Communities
Ms. Arlette Omba-Shako is a highly experienced social worker, community advocate, and the visionary founder of Winners Community Group CIC. Originally from Kinshasa, D.R. Congo, her personal and professional journey reflects resilience, dedication, and a passion for uplifting others.
With a strong commitment to education and professional development, Arlette began her academic journey by studying English at Forest Gate College, followed by Level 1 and Level 2 English courses at Newham College. Her determination to further her impact in the social care sector led her to obtain a BA (Hons) in Social Work from London South Bank University.
Arlette has accumulated over 30 years of experience working with diverse communities across London, specialising in family support, social inclusion, and advocacy. She began her career as a Contact Supervisor at a contact centre, gaining hands-on experience in child and family welfare. She later expanded her expertise by obtaining a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and completing specialised training in Domestic Violence (Levels 1 & 2).
Beyond her professional qualifications, Arlette’s personal experiences, including overcoming domestic violence and other life challenges, have shaped her into a compassionate and empathetic leader. Her deep understanding of the struggles faced by individuals—particularly vulnerable groups, women, and the elderly—drives her mission to create inclusive, supportive, and empowering community spaces.
In 2018, Arlette founded Winners Community Group CIC, a dynamic and inclusive organisation dedicated to empowering residents, combating social isolation, and promoting well-being. Her leadership has led to the expansion of the organisation from Haringey to Redbridge and Camden, with plans to resume services in Haringey in 2025.
As a mother of three, a mentor, and a relentless advocate for community development, Arlette Omba-Shako continues to inspire, lead, and create lasting change in the lives of Londoners of all ages.
